Jeonnam Province announced on the 13th that Jeonnam case number 479, who tested positive last night, works at a nursing hospital in Hwasun, prompting a full inspection and cohort isolation measures.
This individual is a family member of Jeonnam case number 475.
As of now, the first round of full testing targeting medical staff and inpatients at the nursing hospital showed that out of 240 people tested, 239 were negative, while one medical staff member tested positive and was classified as Jeonnam case number 480.
Additionally, a second round of full testing is underway for 308 people, and the nursing hospital has been placed under cohort isolation to block contact with the outside.

Kang Young-gu, Director of the Jeonnam Provincial Health and Welfare Bureau, stated, “With 1,030 new confirmed cases nationwide on the 13th, we are at a critical juncture. In Jeonnam, confirmed cases have emerged from a large nursing hospital, creating a very serious situation. We are putting all efforts into quarantine to prevent further infections.” He added, “Residents must minimize contact between people, refrain from family and acquaintance gatherings, and strictly follow rules such as wearing masks at all times.”
