20th Anniversary Photo Contest of 2nd New Towns... Grand Prize 'Fly Away!'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) unveiled the winning entries of the '20th Anniversary Photo Contest of the 2nd New Towns' on the 2nd New Towns website on the 11th.
This contest was held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the birth of the 2nd New Towns.
From applications received between the 11th of last month and the 1st of this month, a total of 748 works were submitted. After evaluation by a panel of judges mainly composed of experts from the Korea Professional Photographers Association, 12 final winning works were selected.
The Grand Prize was awarded to Park Young-im for "Fly!" photographed in Dongtan 2 New Town, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province. This work captures children joyfully running while throwing umbrellas against the backdrop of the Chidongcheon walking trail. It was highly praised for its artistic quality and storytelling, expressing the joy of living in the 2nd New Town with children.
The Excellence Award was jointly awarded to Kim Hyun-sook for "Run Toward Hope," photographed in Pangyo New Town, and Cho Hyun-min for "Boat Ride in Gimpo Venezia," photographed in Gimpo Hangang New Town.
Winners will receive certificates along with prize money of ▲ 2 million KRW for the Grand Prize (1 person), ▲ 1 million KRW for the Excellence Award (2 persons), and ▲ 100,000 KRW for Honorable Mentions (9 persons). Additionally, LH plans to select 200 participants other than the winners to receive coffee coupons worth about 10,000 KRW.
In accordance with social distancing guidelines for COVID-19, LH will not hold a separate awards ceremony but will exhibit the winning works in an online gallery on the 2nd New Towns website starting from this day.
