Muan-gun, Jeonnam, Reports 8th Confirmed COVID-19 Case
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-ju] One additional confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been reported in Muan, Jeonnam.
According to Muan County on the 10th, Mr. A tested positive around 10 p.m. on the 9th and was classified as Muan case number 8 (Jeonnam case number 460).
Mr. A attended a family gathering at his maternal relatives' home in Damyang, Jeonnam on the 5th and 6th, and all family members were confirmed positive after contact with a relative living in Seoul, who is Seoul Geumcheon-gu case number 153.
Mr. A's movement route was as follows: on the 6th, around 1:35 p.m., he traveled from Gwangju Express Bus Terminal to Muan by express bus, stayed at home, visited a convenience store near his house at around 3:08 p.m. and 6:05 p.m., and visited a cafe at around 6:59 p.m.
On the 7th, around 7 a.m., he visited Haenam with two acquaintances by private car and stayed there until his confirmation on the 9th.
From the 6th to the 9th, 22 contacts were identified and are undergoing specimen testing. The express bus company and Haenam Health Center were promptly notified of the epidemiological investigation results regarding contacts, and disinfection measures were taken swiftly at the confirmed patient's home and visited facilities.
The confirmed patient is currently isolated at Gangjin Medical Center. Information such as the patient's gender, age, and residence (including eup, myeon, dong units and below) is deemed unrelated to infectious disease prevention and, following the revision of the Infectious Disease Prevention Act on September 29, detailed disclosure is no longer permitted.
