Gwangju Seo-gu Operates Intensive Period for Identifying Welfare Crisis Households and Blind Spots
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 9th that it will operate a focused discovery period for welfare crisis households and blind spots in preparation for the winter season until February 28 next year.
The targets for this focused discovery include crisis households notified through the Social Security Information System, households experiencing economic difficulties due to COVID-19, and welfare marginalized groups.
The district plans to actively discover and support crisis households by establishing a human safety net and public-private cooperation system centered on the customized welfare teams of the 18 neighborhood community centers.
Emergency welfare support will be provided to the discovered subjects, and eligibility for benefits will be assessed. Households meeting the selection criteria will be supported with customized benefits such as basic livelihood security tailored payments.
For households experiencing economic difficulties but not meeting the selection criteria, private welfare resources will be maximally utilized to continuously resolve welfare blind spots.
