Samsung Group Executive Personnel Changes in Non-Electronics Divisions... Choi Sung-an Retained as President of Samsung Engineering
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Samsung Group conducted its regular executive appointments for non-electronics affiliates such as Samsung C&T, Samsung Heavy Industries, and Samsung Engineering on the 9th. This round of executive appointments was based on a meritocratic approach, with Samsung C&T having the largest number of appointments across various fields.
Samsung Engineering retained President Choi Sung-an and appointed a total of 12 executives, including 1 vice president, 4 senior managers, and 7 managers. President Choi's reappointment was confirmed after achieving remarkable results in overseas orders this year. Samsung Engineering secured its largest-ever project in Mexico over last year and this year, with new orders this year approaching 9 trillion KRW and an order backlog reaching 17 trillion KRW.
Samsung C&T announced promotions for a total of 29 executives, including 6 vice presidents, 8 senior managers, and 15 managers. In the construction division, three executives?Senior Managers Kang Byung-il, Kim Jae-ho, and Song Gyu-jong?were promoted to vice president, while in the fashion division, Lee Jun-seo, and in the resort division, Senior Managers Noh Il-ho and Jung Byung-seok were promoted to vice president. There were no vice president promotions in the trading division, but Managers Kang Woo-young, Bae Young-min, and Lee Jae-eon were promoted to senior manager.
At Samsung Heavy Industries, Director of Management Support Bae Jin-han was promoted to vice president, and a total of six promotions were made, including Senior Managers Kang Young-gyu, ENI Coral PD, and Ahn Pyung-geun, Head of Production 1, who were promoted to senior manager.
Samsung Group explained the background of this appointment by stating, "This executive appointment was conducted based on a meritocratic personnel policy, and especially, individuals with capabilities and leadership were promoted to senior executive positions to strengthen the pool of candidates for top management."
