One New COVID-19 Case Reported in Hwasun... Jeonnam Patient No. 456
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Jeollanam-do Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 9th that one resident was confirmed positive for COVID-19 overnight on the 8th.
The confirmed resident, classified as Jeonnam No. 456, is a resident of Dong-myeon and is presumed to have been infected through close contact with Jeonnam No. 435, another confirmed case from the same village.
Jeonnam No. 456 had tested negative in a village-wide screening conducted on the 4th, related to Seoul Gwangjin-gu No. 206, and was under self-quarantine.
While in self-quarantine, the individual complained of throat irritation and other symptoms, and was finally confirmed positive in a second diagnostic test conducted the previous evening.
There are no known movement routes or contacts for Jeonnam No. 456.
Upon notification of the positive case, the county immediately completed disinfection of the confirmed patient's residence and isolated the patient at Suncheon Medical Center.
Earlier, on the 4th, upon receiving notification that Seoul Gwangjin-gu No. 206 (family member of Jeonnam No. 435) had visited Jeonnam No. 435's home (from the 28th to 29th of last month), a village-wide screening was conducted immediately.
At that time, only Jeonnam No. 435, a family member of Gwangjin-gu No. 206, tested positive in the screening.
