Kyowon Wells Surpasses 800,000 Rental Accounts... 14% YoY Increase Driven by Strong Sales of Water Purifiers and Plant Cultivators
Hygiene Appliances and Home Plant Cultivators Drive Account Growth
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Kyowon Group's comprehensive health appliance brand Wells announced on the 9th that its rental accounts have exceeded 800,000.
Wells, which recorded 700,000 accounts at the end of last year, explained that the number of rental accounts increased by more than 14% compared to last year, driven by the popularity of major products such as water purifiers and bidets, as well as the home plant cultivator Wells Farm.
The expansion of accounts was led by a significant increase in sales of Kyowon Wells' representative hygiene appliances, water purifiers and bidets. Wells water purifiers, centered on products with hygiene-specialized functions such as 'Wells tt UV+' and 'Wells The One,' saw sales increase by about 20% compared to the previous year.
Wells bidets also recorded steady growth until the third quarter, before the winter peak season, achieving sales more than 30% higher than the previous year. This figure is more than seven times the domestic bidet market growth rate, which grows about 4% annually on average.
Additionally, the home plant cultivator Wells Farm has established itself in the market along with increased sales. Wells launched a shared rental service earlier this year that features a one-year contract period and no device rental fee, applying it to Wells Farm. Through this, the Wells Farm service was converted to a functional vegetable seedling regular subscription model.
Wells analyzed that the success was due to making it easy for any customer who wants to cultivate plants to use the service, including Wells Farm engineers providing regular seedling delivery and inspection services every two months. Wells Farm recorded more than double the sales compared to the previous year, surpassing a cumulative sales volume of over 23,000 units.
