ICT Technology Commercialization Festival... Ministerial Awards to 7 People Including Park Munguk, Director of Mobigen
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The Ministry of Science and ICT will hold the '2020 Information and Communication Technology Commercialization Festival' from 2 p.m. on the 10th to promote research and development achievements in the information and communication field and provide opportunities for technology exchange.
This year, to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the entire program including the opening ceremony (awards ceremony), expert lectures, excellent achievement presentations, and exhibition halls will be conducted online (http://www.ictcyberworld.com).
At the opening ceremony, an awards ceremony will be held to encourage experts from companies and research institutions who have made outstanding achievements in information and communication R&D projects and contributed significantly to technology commercialization.
Seven individuals including Park Munguk, Director of Mobigen Co., Ltd., Kim Hyeongjin, Senior Researcher at Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute, Yang Heeseong, Senior Researcher at Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Lee Hoyoung, Head of EST Research Institute, Song Youngho, Center Director at Korea Photonics Technology Institute, Chae Miok, Senior Researcher at Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, and Son Wonbae, Senior Researcher at Korea Electronics Technology Institute, received the Minister of Science and ICT Award for outstanding R&D and commercialization achievements such as the development of a non-blood diabetes diagnostic device and a controller for virtual network services. Five others including Kim Hyungseon, CEO of Dexstar Co., Ltd., Lee Byunggil, Senior Researcher at Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Chae Beomseok, Manager at Tredio, Kim Chan, Senior Researcher at Information and Communication Technology Association, and Jung Minseok, Director at A-Team Ventures, received the President Award of the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation.
Special lectures examining the future direction of technology commercialization and presentations of excellent commercialization cases will also be held. Jung Hyunkyung, CEO of Musicow, will present the success factors of ‘Musicow,’ the world’s first copyright trading platform, and the key factors necessary for successful technology commercialization in the digital new deal era. Lee Donggi, Director of Male Infrastructure Net, and others will share the technical characteristics and commercialization achievements of R&D results such as flexible sensor-based convergent medical patches for patients.
An online exhibition hall to promote and exhibit the research achievements of about 40 companies participating in government R&D, including Neowine, has been established within the integrated information and communication export support platform (ICT Cyber World 2020) and opened since the 23rd of last month.

Kim Jungwon, Director of the Information and Communication Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “For the realization of the digital new deal, innovative technology development and commercialization activities to bring these technologies to the market are of utmost importance,” and added, “We will continue to devote ourselves to research achievements and the creation of convergence products and services based on Data (D), Network (N), and Artificial Intelligence (A).”
