Donation of 5 Million Won Delivered to Susaek-dong Residents Struggling Due to COVID-19

The good deeds of singer Kim Chang-wan, who is heard daily on the radio show "Beautiful This Morning with Kim Chang-wan," have become a hot topic.
On the 4th, a small but significant donation ceremony was held in the mayor's office on the 6th floor of Eunpyeong-gu Office. Singer Kim Chang-wan donated 5 million won, asking that it be used for the residents of Susaek-dong, Eunpyeong-gu. Although the event was held with the minimum necessary personnel due to COVID-19, it was an occasion where a heart bigger than anyone else, thinking of neighbors who are having a harder time than himself during these difficult times, was conveyed.
The beautiful heart of singer, actor, and writer Kim Chang-wan toward Susaek-dong began at the "Mulbit Village Concert and Art Exhibition" held at the Susaek-dong Community Center (Dongjang Park Young-mi) last October.
Some of the paintings exhibited that day by artist Lee Jung-yeon were part of Kim Chang-wan's personal collection. Through discussions with Park Young-mi, the head of Susaek-dong, he readily promised that if the exhibited paintings were sold, all proceeds would be donated.
All 10 paintings were sold. Adding the sales revenue of 3.2 million won and Kim Chang-wan's personal donation of 1.8 million won, a total of 5 million won was donated as the "2021 Hope Ondol Warm Winter" fund. The donation, containing Kim Chang-wan's wish for it to be used for low-income households residing in Susaek-dong, will be delivered to 28 families in Susaek-dong with various difficulties through the Community Chest of Korea.
