Yoon Seok-yeol's Side "Requests Witnesses Lee Seong-yoon, Han Dong-su, Jeong Jin-ung"... "Almost No Interpersonal Investigation Records in Ministry of Justice Provided Documents"
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] Ahead of the disciplinary committee scheduled for the 10th, the side of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol announced on the 8th that they plan to additionally request witnesses including Lee Seong-yoon, Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Han Dong-su, Head of the Inspection Department at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and Jeong Jin-ung, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office (former Head of the Criminal Division 1 at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office).
On the same day in the afternoon, Yoon’s lawyer Lee Wan-gyu stated, "After reviewing approximately 700 pages of additional (disciplinary) records provided by the Ministry of Justice, about 220 pages overlapped with the previously received documents, so the actual amount is about 480 pages, and more than half of those were newspaper clippings," adding, "There are almost no personal investigation records necessary for preparing a defense, which makes it difficult to prepare a defense."
He continued, "Since it is necessary to request additional witnesses in advance, we plan to additionally request Han Dong-su, Head of the Inspection Department, an unnamed inspection official, Lee Seong-yoon, Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and Jeong Jin-ung, former Head of the Criminal Division 1 at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, as witnesses."
Article 13 of the Prosecutor Disciplinary Act stipulates that the committee may question witnesses either ex officio or upon the request of the accused or their special defense counsel.

Earlier, the Ministry of Justice reportedly conveyed the position that "if the disciplinary committee adopts the witness as a re-examination witness during the deliberation date, the witness examination procedure can proceed" in response to Yoon’s side’s request for witness examination.
