Special Newsletter Distributed on Key Restrictions Following Social Distancing Level 2.5 Upgrade... Includes Detailed Operation of Major Public Facilities and Top 10 Life Quarantine Rules for Jungnang Residents
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has launched an all-out effort to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19 as the winter season approaches.
The average daily confirmed cases, which were 1.4 from July to October over four months, surged to an average of 8.7 per day and a maximum of 21 cases daily since November. With 1 in 1,000 Jungnang-gu residents infected, 2 in 100 under self-quarantine, and 8 in 100 undergoing screening tests, the virus has spread throughout Jungnang-gu. In response, the district office has rolled up its sleeves to prevent COVID-19 transmission in daily life, including producing a special edition newsletter.
This measure aims to request cooperation from residents in relation to the government's social distancing upgrade and Seoul's "Stop" campaign, raise awareness about the virus, and actively encourage preemptive testing to quickly block the spread within the community.
First, the district produced 170,000 posters depicting COVID-19 infection cases in daily life and distributed them to all 170,000 households in Jungnang-gu. Additionally, 5,000 poster-type promotional materials will be posted in multi-use facilities such as apartment elevators.
The promotional materials include cases such as visits by non-cohabiting family members, private gatherings without masks after exercise, and transmission due to delayed testing after kimchi-making gatherings, informing residents that anyone can become a COVID delivery person with just a little negligence.
In particular, the case where a student who was unaware of their infection attended school in nine Jungnang-gu schools is introduced. Among 6,960 students who attended classes and meals together, there was not a single additional confirmed case. This example will also be used to teach children in Jungnang about daily life quarantine rules.
Furthermore, a special edition newsletter of 170,000 copies containing the operational status of major public facilities in Jungnang-gu following the upgrade to social distancing level 2.5 and the "Top 10 Daily Life Quarantine Rules" for Jungnang residents will be separately produced and distributed.
The Top 10 Daily Life Quarantine Rules for Jungnang residents are: ▲Wear a mask anytime and anywhere ▲Refrain from talking during meals and wear a mask immediately after eating ▲Wash hands frequently for 30 seconds and cover coughs with sleeves ▲Ventilate at least three times a day and disinfect regularly ▲Avoid visiting 3Cs (closed spaces, crowded places, close-contact settings) ▲Refrain from unnecessary dining gatherings, outings, and travel ▲Maintain a two-arm’s length (2m) distance when lining up ▲Get tested at health centers if COVID-19 symptoms are suspected ▲Self-quarantined individuals and their families must strictly follow quarantine rules ▲Consider and care for each other while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “These promotional materials were produced to minimize residents’ inconvenience due to the COVID-19 stage upgrade and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in daily life through case transmission. Now, more than ever, the participation and cooperation of Jungnang residents are crucial. We earnestly ask everyone to strictly follow the Top 10 Daily Life Quarantine Rules selected by the district with the determination to block the spread of COVID-19.”
Meanwhile, the district has organized 155 teams with 520 quarantine personnel and 170 epidemiological investigation teams to conduct thorough large-scale disinfection and in-depth epidemiological investigations to prevent further spread. If necessary, the district plans to use contingency funds to expand COVID-19 quarantine personnel and equipment to the maximum extent.
Additionally, a COVID-19 residential treatment center has been established in Jungnang-gu to focus on treating asymptomatic confirmed patients under the age of 49.
