[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] The Seoul Arts Center announced on the 8th that it will enter a reduced operation mode until the 18th in accordance with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's suspension order for national cultural and artistic facilities located in Seoul.
The Seoul Arts Center will suspend planned performances scheduled until the 18th and educational courses until the 31st. Accordingly, the National Opera Company's performance of 'La Boh?me' scheduled at the Opera Theater on the 11th and 12th has been canceled.
Regarding ongoing exhibitions, the Seoul Arts Center stated that discussions are underway about suspension or limiting attendance to 30%. The exhibition 'ㄱ's Moment,' co-hosted with the Chosun Ilbo, is currently operating, but discussions are ongoing with the co-host about whether to suspend it. Additionally, exhibitions held by private rental companies are under discussion for suspension or operation with a 30% attendance limit in compliance with social distancing level 2.5 guidelines.
