Recently, due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), 'non-face-to-face classes' have been conducted, leading to an increase in students' internet usage time and a rising trend in cyber school violence.
In response, Councilor Hwang pointed out that "while cyber school violence has increased by 70% over the past three years, the related budget was cut by nearly 40% compared to the previous year," actively appealing for the necessity of increasing the budget for preventing cyber violence.
He also argued that practical school violence prevention and countermeasures suitable for Gyeongnam's circumstances are needed, such as expanding the target of school violence surveys to include first-grade elementary school students.
