On the 8th, the Central Avian Influenza Countermeasures Headquarters announced that a suspected case of highly pathogenic AI was detected at a meat duck farm located in Naju, Jeonnam. The farm raises about 32,000 meat ducks, and during a comprehensive inspection of poultry farms belonging to the integrated operator that includes the third outbreak farm (Yeongam, Jeonnam, on the 4th), H5 antigen was detected.
The Central Countermeasures Headquarters immediately dispatched an initial response team to the site to enforce access control to the farm, conduct preventive culling, epidemiological investigations, and implement movement restrictions as well as surveillance and detailed inspections on farms within a 10km radius.
