On the 8th, the Ministry of National Defense announced that among the additional confirmed cases, three were officers at Sangmudae, an Army education and training facility in Jangseong, Jeonnam, where a cluster infection occurred. They developed symptoms while in quarantine after contact with confirmed cases within the unit. The cumulative number of confirmed cases at Sangmudae has risen to 30.
At an Army unit located in Incheon, one soldier who was classified as a close contact and was in quarantine tested positive. The cumulative number of confirmed cases at this unit is nine.

Meanwhile, at an Air Force unit in Gangneung, Gangwon, where three confirmed cases had been reported until the previous day, mass testing of about 1,300 personnel has been completed. Except for about 30 individuals whose test results are still pending, all have tested negative so far, according to military officials. The military is reportedly quarantining about 200 people, including contacts, as a preventive measure. As of 10 a.m. on the day, the cumulative number of confirmed cases within the military stands at 431, with 199 currently undergoing treatment.
