July 7-13 Yeongdeungpo's Representative Culture and Arts Festival Enjoyed Online... Hybrid Online and Offline Operation Considering COVID-19... Recipe Videos Posted, Stamp Tour Provided... Hidden Cultural and Arts Spaces in Mullae-dong at a Glance... Art Tour Map Created and Distributed
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chaehyunil) will hold the local culture and arts festival "2020 Hello Mullae" both online and offline from the 7th to the 13th in the Mullae Creative Village area, where culture and arts come alive.
First launched in 2013, "Hello Mullae" is now in its 8th year as a local arts festival. It is Yeongdeungpo's representative community festival planned and operated together by local members including small business owners, artists, and residents, based on culture, arts, and local industrial resources.
Considering the ongoing spread of COVID-19 this year, workshops and exhibitions that can be conducted online will be posted using SNS platforms such as YouTube and Facebook. The Mullae Art Tour map will be distributed, and the stamp tour will be operated while strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines such as social distancing among participants and placing hand sanitizers in each studio.
This year’s festival features a variety of programs to enjoy both online and offline, including ▲"Artist Recipe," where you can hear stories from Mullae Creative Village artists, ▲"LIN:KIT," a participatory program where participants receive production kits for each workshop, watch guide videos, create the products, and certify their completion online, ▲distribution of the "Art Tour Map" that allows a comprehensive view of hidden art spaces in Mullae-dong, and ▲the stamp tour "Finding Mullae Flavor," which leads participants to discover hidden spaces in Mullae-dong.
Accordingly, on the 7th, the video "Artist Recipe," featuring stories of five active artists in Mullae Creative Village, was launched. From the 9th to the 13th, five "LIN:KIT" videos connecting Mullae Creative Village artists and residents to overcome COVID blues will be released sequentially.
"LIN:KIT" consists of five videos providing recipes for five kits: ▲2021 notebook making by artist Yeonwoo Lee, ▲pattern fabric crafts by artist Hyunju Park, ▲fabric collage coasters by artist Yeji Lee, ▲my coloring poster book by artist Seongkyung Ahn, and ▲rattan hanging plant making by Oncho Workshop.
Additionally, an Art Tour Map has been created and distributed both online and offline to help visitors find cultural and artistic spaces such as workshops, exhibition spaces, and art shops hidden throughout the alleys of Mullae-dong.
Furthermore, for residents looking forward to the Mullae Creative Village tour program, a stamp tour program "Finding Mullae Flavor, Recipe" has been prepared. By collecting all five stamps using QR codes installed at five locations around Mullae Creative Village and the Art Tour Map, and uploading them on personal SNS, participants can receive a random box containing small items from Mullae Creative Village artists.
As in previous years, the offline event will be held at the same location in front of Exit 7 of Mullae Station. For more details, please check the Hello Mullae Facebook homepage.
