Cloud Migration Extends from Customer Channel Systems to Core Business Systems

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Lotte Card announced on the 8th that it has successfully transitioned its core business system, the account system, to the cloud to secure proactive responsiveness and capabilities needed in the digital era.
In July 2018, Lotte Card transitioned the 'channel system,' which includes the homepage, applications (apps), and various pay services that customers encounter when using Lotte Card externally, to the cloud to respond to diverse customer needs. This year, it successfully transitioned the 'account system,' the core system where all card operations such as customer management, screening, credit, accounting, billing, and deposits are performed, to the cloud.
Through this transition, Lotte Card secured scalability and flexibility to respond more agilely to the rapidly changing financial market environment, and by improving overall service quality, it can provide more stable services to customers.
Lotte Card explained that although traffic increased about fivefold over two years after the channel system's cloud transition, it operated without a single expansion through resource optimization, achieving about a 40% reduction in operating costs.
