Sangju City is promoting the construction of the Sangju Youth Marine Education Center within the Nakdonggang History Story Village as a core project to provide systematic and professional education about the marine environment, in response to the increasing demand for marine leisure among inland youth.
The Youth Marine Education Center will be a residential-type educational facility with one basement floor and three above-ground floors (total floor area 5,383㎡), including a dormitory accommodating 156 people, and is scheduled to be completed in 2022. Along with nearby facilities such as the Nakdonggang History Story Hall, Nakdanbo Water Leisure Center, and the Inland Water Aquarium Business Center (planned), it is expected to become a representative tourist resource of Sangju City.
