View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong District, participated as a presenter in the discussion session on the second day of the 11th Asia Future Forum (Session 4: Evolution of Localities: Local Governments and Civil Society in the COVID-19 Era).
The discussion, held to explore ways for local governments and civil society to move forward together in the post-COVID-19 era of 2020, took place at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Conference Hall on the 3rd from 1:30 PM for two hours.
Members of the National Solidarity Economy Local Government Council and related experts participated, including Jung Won-oh, Chair of the National Solidarity Economy Local Government Council and Mayor of Seongdong District; Yoo Kang-moon, Director of the Hankyoreh Economic and Social Research Institute; and Min Hyung-bae, Member of the National Assembly, who delivered welcome and congratulatory speeches. The event featured presentations by related experts, presentations and discussions on outstanding local policy cases from each local government.
On this day, Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong District, presented Eunpyeong’s recycling project as an outstanding local policy case involving the community and citizens.
The discussion was moderated by former KBS WORLD News anchor Park Ji-eun. Following expert presentations, each local government presented their outstanding local policy cases in order, with the Mayor of Eunpyeong introducing the ‘Eunpyeong Green MoaMoa’ project as an exemplary local policy case.
