Songpa-gu Raises Quarantine Guidelines to Highest Level D for One Week Starting the 7th
Please Actively Utilize District-Operated Non-Face-to-Face Services Such as Book and Toy Rentals, Education and Culture, and Grocery Shopping... District-Hosted Events Suspended to Prevent Rapidly Increasing COVID-19 Spread
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) announced on the 6th that, following Seoul City's implementation of strengthened emergency social distancing measures for two weeks starting from the 5th, it will do its utmost to encourage residents to stay home by actively utilizing its self-established quarantine guidelines through a 'Stay-at-Home Administration.'
To this end, the district recommended actively using non-face-to-face services operated by the district to minimize residents' inconvenience caused by the complete suspension of public facilities.
In particular, it encouraged the active use of various non-face-to-face services operated by the district due to the suspension of public facility operations.
▲ Expansion of the online simple book lending service conducted at district libraries and continued operation of two smart libraries ▲ Various educational and cultural programs using the Songpa Saem YouTube channel ▲ Free delivery services for traditional markets and neighborhood stores, walking-through shopping in alleyway commercial districts ▲ Non-face-to-face toy library delivery and collection services, among others.
The district will suspend district-hosted events to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19. Since the end of November, the district has established its own event quarantine guidelines, reviewing the number of confirmed cases and community spread trends over a week to determine event holding status in four stages (A to D).
In the past week, 90 confirmed cases (as of December 3) occurred across 21 neighborhoods in Songpa-gu, including cluster infections at private sports facilities.
Accordingly, from the 7th, the 'Event Holding Stage' will be elevated to Stage D.
Stage D is the highest level, implemented when there are 40 or more confirmed cases in a week, requiring all departments with scheduled events to fully reconsider, postpone, or cancel them.
The Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting, composed of 22 departments in Songpa-gu, will also be held via video conference instead of face-to-face meetings. Stage D will be implemented for one week from the 7th, with a reassessment and stage reset on the 10th by the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.
Additionally, quarantine measures for public facilities and private sports facilities will be further strengthened, with an on-site inspection team formed to continuously monitor compliance with quarantine rules.
