LG Uplus Explores Expansion Plans for Remote Education for Children
Signing of MOU between the Institute of Childcare Policy and Remote Education Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] LG Uplus is exploring ways to expand remote education for children in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education Policy.
On the 6th, LG Uplus announced that it had signed a strategic business agreement with the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education Policy to develop multimedia-based remote education. Considering the social distancing situation, the agreement was conducted non-face-to-face using a video conferencing solution.
Through this agreement, they plan to promote ▲remote education research ▲education for the spread of remote education ▲joint sponsorship of contributors to remote education research and dissemination such as students and teachers.
Due to the increased need for remote education caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, LG Uplus is seeking ways to utilize ICT for young children who have been excluded from education in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education Policy. The Korea Institute of Child Care and Education Policy is a government-funded research institute under the Prime Minister’s Office that studies childcare policies for daycare centers and kindergartens.
They will research ICT-based remote education for children and ways to expand remote education for children, whose use of remote education has lagged behind that of elementary and secondary education. LG Uplus also plans to expand its support related to early childhood education.
Kim Saera, Head of Marketing Group at LG Uplus, said, “We signed this agreement with the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education Policy to promote the long-term development of education using ICT in line with the emerging untact trend due to COVID-19. We will make multifaceted efforts to practically improve the quality of children’s education by utilizing our ICT technology and platform.”
