Kim Geun-sik "There Are Too Many Deaths in Politics... Power Cannot Be More Precious Than Life"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Professor Kim Geun-sik of Gyeongnam National University, chairman of the People Power Party's Songpa-byeong district committee, expressed sorrow regarding the death of a close aide to Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stating, "No power is more precious than life."
On the 4th, Professor Kim said on Facebook, "There is too much death in politics. This should not be the case."
He added, "Politics handles the sharp sword called power. Politics is inseparable from power. Is the realm of power uniquely prone to calling forth death?" and "Facing death at every political issue is an unbearable pain."
Professor Kim said, "Since the Moon administration alone, there have been deaths at every political upheaval, including Prosecutor Byeon Chang-hoon, who was under investigation for the National Intelligence Service's online comment manipulation case; General Kim Jae-su of the Defense Security Command related to the martial law documents; a prosecution investigator dispatched to the Blue House involved in the Ulsan mayoral election case; and Mayor Park Won-soon," emphasizing, "The shocking news about Lee's close aide also makes us question whether politics is truly so ruthless that it demands sacrificing life."
