Kamco-Daejeon City, Business Agreement for Old Downtown Regeneration and Revitalization
Linking Kamco Narakeum Daejeon Integrated Government Building Development Project and Daejeon Complex Cultural Platform Creation Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KAMCO (Korea Asset Management Corporation) signed a business agreement with Daejeon Metropolitan City on the 3rd at the Daejeon Modern History Exhibition Hall for the 'Regeneration and Revitalization of Daejeon Old Downtown,' attended by KAMCO President Moon Sung-yu and Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jeong.
This business agreement was prepared to jointly lead the regeneration and revitalization of Daejeon’s old downtown by successfully carrying out the KAMCO Narakeum Daejeon Integrated Government Building construction project and Daejeon City’s complex cultural platform creation project.
Through the agreement, the two organizations will closely cooperate in all aspects of the projects, including ▲establishing development directions and utilization plans for the Narakeum Daejeon Integrated Government Building ▲remodeling the former Chungnam Provincial Police Agency office building ▲seeking ways to link and utilize the Daejeon Modern History Exhibition Hall (former Chungnam Provincial Government Building) ▲creating and operating a complex cultural platform in the old downtown area.
In particular, KAMCO plans to construct a new integrated government building on the site of the former Chungnam Provincial Police Agency, located at the core axis of the old downtown, and, together with Daejeon City, prepare plans to link and utilize the adjacent former Chungnam Provincial Government Building (Registered Cultural Heritage No. 18), expecting to contribute to revitalizing the local economy.

President Moon Sung-yu of KAMCO said, “I hope this business agreement will serve as a catalyst for the regeneration and revitalization of Daejeon’s old downtown through the Narakeum Daejeon Integrated Government Building development project,” adding, “Going forward, KAMCO will continue to combine public development projects with urban regeneration projects to enhance public convenience and promote regional economic development.”
