On the 1st, the Gyeyang Police Station in Incheon announced that it is publicly requesting citizen tips to accurately identify the damaged bodies. Tips can be reported to the Gyeyang Police Station or by calling 112.
The police also released a facial reconstruction photo of the damaged bodies. This photo was created by the National Forensic Service, which reconstructed the deceased’s face in 3D using the bones of the damaged bodies.
According to the police, parts of damaged bodies were found in the Gyeongin Ara Waterway in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, in May and June, and in July, parts of a damaged body undergoing skeletonization were found on the mid-slope of Gyeyangsan in Gyeyang-gu.
The police requested an analysis of these damaged bodies from the National Forensic Service and received a report in July confirming that the DNA information of the bodies matched.
Based on the National Forensic Service’s analysis, the police estimate the bodies to be women in their 30s to 40s, with a height between 160 and 167 cm. Their blood type is B.
They also confirmed traces of dental treatment: a gold inlay on the left upper jaw (maxilla) teeth and resin treatments on the left and right lower jaw (mandible) teeth.
Over the past six months, the police have formed a dedicated investigation team and conducted investigations targeting missing persons, those who have not returned home, victims of dating and domestic violence, women living alone, and those who have received dental treatment, but have not been able to identify the bodies.
