Improving Housing Conditions and Creating Online Learning Environments for 30 Low-Income Households

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KAMCO (Korea Asset Management Corporation) announced on the 1st that executives and employees, including Lee In-su, KAMCO's Standing Auditor, participated in volunteer activities to create a 'Digital Study Room' for low-income households in Gupo-dong, Buk-gu, Busan.
The 'Digital Study Room' is a new social contribution activity launched by KAMCO to overcome COVID-19. It aims to improve the living environment for low-income households by renovating walls, flooring, and lighting, and to create an online learning environment with books, desks and chairs, and computers, in response to the prolonged online classes due to COVID-19.
In October, KAMCO selected 30 households for support by comprehensively considering their economic situations through applications received via the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education and others. KAMCO provided a total of 60 million KRW along with computers, peripherals, and conducted volunteer activities.

The volunteer activities were carried out strictly following quarantine guidelines such as wearing masks, temperature checks, hand sanitization, and ventilation to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Lee In-su, KAMCO's Standing Auditor, said, "Through the creation of this Digital Study Room, we hope that children and adolescents from marginalized groups can cultivate a brighter future in a better environment," and added, "KAMCO will continue to fulfill its social responsibilities to overcome COVID-19 together."
