Special Donation Delivered to the Korean Tuberculosis Association for Tuberculosis Prevention and Eradication Projects
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Kim In-ho, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council (Democratic Party of Korea, Dongdaemun 3), met with Seong Ha-sam, President of the Seoul Branch of the Korean Tuberculosis Association, and Moon Hye-dong, Regional Director, on the 30th to receive the 2020 Christmas Seal and deliver a special donation for tuberculosis prevention and eradication projects.
Chairman Kim In-ho stated, "I believe this is a time when more attention is needed for tuberculosis patients who are suffering double hardships due to COVID-19," adding, "In particular, the Seoul Metropolitan Council will actively take the lead in the early detection and treatment support of tuberculosis patients in vulnerable groups."
At the delivery ceremony, Kim Ki-duk, Vice Chairman (Democratic Party of Korea, Mapo 4), also attended and expressed gratitude for the Korean Tuberculosis Association's dedicated volunteer work and fundraising activities for tuberculosis prevention and eradication.
The tuberculosis eradication fund raised through the Christmas Seal fundraising campaign is used for various domestic and international tuberculosis eradication projects, including the discovery and support of tuberculosis patients in vulnerable groups, support for student tuberculosis patients, tuberculosis bacteria testing and research, and support for tuberculosis projects in underdeveloped countries.

Seong Ha-sam, President of the Seoul Branch of the Korean Tuberculosis Association, said, "The precious donations from citizens are not only used for tuberculosis patients but ultimately benefit ourselves and our families through the creation of a healthy society," adding, "I hope all citizens will have awareness of tuberculosis and actively participate in the fundraising."
