Choi Hyung-sik, Damyang County Governor, Goes All Out to Block the Spread of COVID-19
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Choi Hyungsik, the governor of Damyang County, Jeonnam, urged the establishment of public officials' discipline and the strengthening of quarantine management to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 at the executive meeting on the 30th.
Governor Choi said, “As the anxiety of the residents has increased due to the confirmed case of an employee in Gasamunhak-myeon, I have instructed each department to work from home and cancel unnecessary gatherings, events, and meetings during the year-end and New Year holidays. Please make every effort to prevent paralysis of civil administration and quarantine work by establishing public service discipline.”
He added, “The COVID-19 situation is worsening with unclear infection routes and a sharp increase in the number of infected people. We ask for the active cooperation of the residents regarding the quarantine authorities' social distancing level 1.5 upgrade measure currently being implemented to prevent the spread of community infection.”
Under social distancing level 1.5, gatherings and demonstrations of more than 100 people, large-scale concerts, academic events, and festivals are prohibited, and the density of school attendance must comply with two-thirds capacity.
In addition to key management facilities such as cafes and restaurants, wearing masks is also mandatory at outdoor sports stadiums.
