This business agreement was promoted to establish a mutual cooperation system among institutions implementing the Regional Community Contribution Recognition System, to foster and spread a sound culture of social contribution, and to contribute to the creation of social value.
The Regional Community Contribution Recognition System is a system that discovers companies and institutions that have consistently carried out social contribution activities and recognizes their contributions by the local community. It has been implemented by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare since last year. SBC was recognized for its contributions for two consecutive years, including last year.
SBC plans to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, and institutions participating in the Regional Community Contribution Recognition System in joint research and development of social value implementation level indices, building regional cooperation networks, and social contribution activities. In particular, it plans to take the lead in creating social value by supporting customized linkage consulting using nationwide regional organizations, along with reductions in training fees and training facility usage fees for small and medium enterprises participating in the Regional Community Contribution Recognition System.
Following the business agreement, at the '2020 Regional Community Contribution Recognition Day' event, SBC's 'Digital Living Lab Frontier' activity was selected as an excellent social contribution program and received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award. This program is a citizen-participatory social contribution project promoted this year by SBC in cooperation with universities located in Gyeongnam, the region of its headquarters relocation, social enterprises, and others to improve the living conditions of socioeconomically vulnerable groups.
