According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 26th, two additional confirmed cases were diagnosed and classified as local cases 648 and 649.
Case 648, residing in Hakdong, Dong-gu, is a neurosurgeon at Chonnam National University Hospital who tested positive before being released from self-quarantine.
This individual was classified as a contact of Gwangju case 546 and was under self-quarantine.
Case 649's infection route remains unclear. This person is an employee at a heavy industry company in Hwasun, Jeonnam, who developed symptoms such as fever and underwent testing at a designated hospital screening clinic that morning, receiving a positive result.
