On the 26th at 3 p.m., Ulsan City and the UNIST Future Car Research Center (Director Kim Hak-seon) held the "Future Car Research Center Participating Companies Research Directors Council Launch Ceremony" at Lotte Hotel Ulsan.
The launch ceremony was attended by 30 medium-sized, small, and venture companies from the Ulsan region.
This launch ceremony was organized to build a system that supports research and development tailored to the needs of companies by establishing a convergence network in the future car sector.
UNIST and the participating companies decided to introduce an organic technological cooperation system as innovation agents.
The Future Car Convergence Industry-Academia Research Directors Council is composed of eight technical divisions: design, materials, batteries, parts/modules, autonomous driving, Personal Air Vehicle (PAV), System Integration, and Mobility as a Service (MaaS).
UNIST will utilize specialized research personnel and infrastructure in each division to establish a growth and development system for future car convergence technologies.
Starting with technology development in each field, they plan to link a "Small and Medium Enterprise Support Program" and hold "Technology Exchange Meetings" to provide new industrial entry opportunities for participating small and medium-sized enterprises.
Kim Hak-seon, director of the Future Car Research Center, said, "To lead the global market, it is an essential task to develop integrated functional technologies and products that combine eco-friendly green car technologies such as electric and hydrogen vehicles with autonomous driving and flying cars."
