Suncheon-si Haeryong-myeon Installs Convenience Facilities to Improve Elderly Housing Environment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Haeryong-myeon, Suncheon City, installed residential safety convenience facilities in 27 households to ensure a safe living environment for the elderly.
The residential safety convenience facility installation project is part of the "Senior Community Integrated Care Pilot Project." It supports customized home repairs for each target to create living conditions where the elderly can spend a safe and happy old age in their own homes by installing safety convenience facilities in poor housing spaces.
Through this project, Haeryong-myeon improved the residential environment by installing safety handrails, improving the dirt floor area, and placing anti-slip mats in 27 elderly households with mobility difficulties and fall risks, enabling seniors to live independently in a safe environment.
Choi, an elderly resident of Pungdeok Village in Haeryong-myeon, expressed gratitude, saying, "Until now, it was not easy to go out to the yard because the dirt floor was high, but now that they have placed stairs in front of the dirt floor and installed handrails, I can live in my home for a long time."
