What Does the NC Dinos' Championship Sword Symbolize?
‘All for One, One for All’
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] NC Dinos made headlines by raising the championship sword for the first time in 9 years since their founding.
On the 24th, at the Mokdong Gocheok Dome, they defeated Doosan 4-2 in the 6th game of the 2020 KBO League, securing their first championship with a 4-2 series win.
At the moment the championship was confirmed, after the players cheered around NC catcher Yang Eui-ji and pitcher Won Jong-hyun, an object wrapped in black cloth was passed around. This object turned out to be the ‘Execution Sword’ used in NCSoft’s ‘Lineage’ game.
NC Dinos adopted the famous phrase of the Three Musketeers, ‘All for One, One for All,’ as the concept for the Korean Series.
This phrase carries forward the meaning of the regular season catchphrase ‘Stronger Together’ tailored to the Korean Series situation.
The Korean Series emblem also reflects this by representing the Three Musketeers’ three swords as baseball bats in its design.
Before the Korean Series, the NC team came up with the idea of a championship ceremony using swords inspired by the Three Musketeers, and upon hearing this, NCSoft created and gifted model swords symbolizing ‘strength’ and ‘victory.’
