[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Students from the Military Science Department at Chosun University of Science and Technology participated in the event of attaching nameplates for national veterans in the Gwangju area.
Chosun University of Science and Technology announced on the 24th that first-year students of the Military Science Department are participating in the event of attaching nameplates for national veterans in the Gwangju area and plan to visit about 50 locations over the course of a month.
The Military Science Department at Chosun University of Science and Technology began full-scale activities after signing a business agreement with the Gwangju Regional Veterans Office in June to promote the "Nameplate Attachment Project for National Veterans with Student Participation."
As the Military Science students resumed the event, which had been postponed due to COVID-19, and conducted school operations through face-to-face classes, they visited about 20 national veterans' households in four sessions on the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 17th, focusing on the five districts of Gwangju Metropolitan City, attaching nameplates and conveying respect and gratitude.
Moon Seon-kyung, a first-year student in the Military Science Department at Chosun University of Science and Technology, said, "It was a meaningful day to personally attach nameplates to the homes of national veterans," adding, "I felt heartbroken seeing that national veterans had more difficulty moving around and were living in hardship than I had thought, but it was a rewarding day to be able to help even a little."
