Two Family Members of Gwangju Prison Staff Test Positive Before Release from Self-Quarantine
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Two additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Gwangju, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 617.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 23rd, two residents of Sinchang-dong, Gwangsan-gu tested positive for COVID-19 and were classified as cases 616 and 617.
They are family members of Gwangju case 524 and were classified as close contacts, undergoing self-quarantine. They tested positive in the pre-release test.
The infection route of the Gwangju Correctional Facility employee (case 607) confirmed on the 21st is currently classified as the Chonnam National University Hospital, but Gwangju City explained that they plan to investigate additional movement paths to determine the exact infection route.

Regarding case 607, a full test was conducted on 795 people at Gwangju Correctional Facility. So far, one person has tested positive, and 726, including 325 inmates, have tested negative. Testing is ongoing for 68 people.
