About 90 participants took part in the campaign, including Wando-gun, Wando Police Station, the Wando-gun Council of the Barun Saelgi Movement, the Green Mothers' Association, the Model Drivers' Association, the Smile Taxi Association, and Safety Guardians.
On that day, each organization and social group maintained social distancing while holding banners and placards to inform about the five major illegal parking prohibition zones such as fire hydrants, street corners at intersections, bus stops, crosswalks, and children protection zones, and conducted a campaign to eradicate drunk driving.
Additionally, they distributed notices and masks regarding the "Mandatory Mask Wearing and Fine Imposition" and urged people to wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In particular, they checked whether the "Clean Wando Life Quarantine 5 Rules"?mask wearing, temperature checks, entry log writing when using local facilities, hand sanitizing, and social distancing?were being properly followed.
Deputy Governor Bong Jin-moon of Wando said, "The five absolutely no-parking zones such as fire hydrants and street corners at intersections are places where cars must never be parked to protect the lives and safety of residents," and added, "The county will continue to promote and implement various policies to establish an advanced traffic culture."
He also urged, "To prevent the spread of COVID-19, please make sure to wear masks indoors and outdoors without exception."
