Seomsanryeon "Holding Demand-Customized New Material Collection"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] The Korea Federation of Textile Industries (Chairman Sangwoon Lee, hereinafter referred to as KOFOTI) announced on the 20th that it jointly held the '2020 Demand-tailored New Material Collection for Textile and Fashion Companies' with the Korea Textile Import and Export Association.
The event held on the 18th at the Textile Center showcased a large number of new products developed by domestic yarn and fabric companies. This event was conducted in strict compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, including controlling the number of attendees by time slot, multiple registration steps, and limiting consultation times. More than 600 visitors attended, far exceeding the pre-registered 450, demonstrating strong interest in eco-friendly and sustainable textiles.
A survey conducted among visiting buyers revealed that after COVID-19, 77% of respondents chose sourcing mainly from existing partners, 12% opted for new sourcing through online platforms, and 11% used small-scale consultation meetings for sourcing.
In connection with the collection, the '2020 Global Retailer New Material Analysis Seminar' provided an opportunity to access new material analysis information demanded by global brands and the latest development trends of domestic material companies all in one place.
The seminar was held with a minimal number of attendees to maintain social distancing, and instead, it will be uploaded on KOFOTI's YouTube channel to allow more buyers to watch freely.
