[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) announced that the 'Resource Circulation Center Construction Project' in the Seoul Godeok Gangil Public Housing Development District will be officially promoted following the announcement of the implementation plan approval on the 19th.
After this implementation plan approval, the district plans to go through the building permit process and start construction in December this year, complete the construction in the first half of 2023, conduct a trial operation for about 10 months including odor performance tests, and aim for completion in the first half of 2024.
The newly built Resource Circulation Center will be constructed on a 41,153㎡ site at 272, Arisu-ro 87-gil, Gangdong-gu (Lot 85, Godeok-dong), replacing the existing aging waste treatment facilities with a modernized, underground facility.
The Resource Circulation Center will be built with 2 underground floors and 4 aboveground floors. The underground will house an automated waste treatment facility equipped with a daily 360-ton capacity ▲food waste treatment facility ▲recyclables sorting facility (70 tons/day) ▲household waste compression and transfer facility (200 tons/day) ▲large waste treatment facility (10 tons/day) ▲odor treatment equipment.
On the aboveground, green spaces and sports parks will be created to form a nature-friendly area that harmonizes well with the surrounding environment of the nearby Godeok Biz Valley and public housing complexes.
Additionally, the Resource Circulation Center management building will include a complex space with a modern sculptural permanent exhibition hall, themed exhibition rooms, air environment experience education rooms, rest areas, and a rooftop garden, establishing a resident-friendly facility that residents can visit anytime.
