According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station, at around 11:17 a.m. that day, tourist A, who was trekking on Chagwido Island in Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju City, complained of dizziness and collapsed near the Chagwido Hayeon Lighthouse, then requested rescue due to breathing difficulties and cardiac arrest.
The Jeju Coast Guard immediately dispatched a coastal rescue boat from Hallim Police Substation, while maritime police officers working at Gosan Port urgently arranged for two 119 paramedics and fishing boat B. They arrived at Chagwido at 11:36 a.m. and moved to the location of the emergency patient. After providing first aid and regaining consciousness, the patient was carried on a stretcher and departed Chagwido at 12:10 p.m., arriving at Gosan Jagune Port at 12:18 p.m., where the waiting 119 emergency medical team took over.
