On the 18th, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that it had selected three exemplary cases of active administration and three outstanding public officials for the third quarter of this year.
Among 10 candidate exemplary cases of active administration submitted by various departments and bureaus, the selection process included evaluations by the 'Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Active Administration Public Monitoring Group,' composed of ordinary citizens, and the 'Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Active Administration Committee,' consisting of government and private sector members.
The first place was awarded to the 'Comprehensive Support Center for Businesspeople's Entry and Exit,' established on August 13 in cooperation with related ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and organizations including the Korea International Trade Association, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and KOTRA.
By providing one-stop processing for special charter flights for small and medium-sized enterprises and comprehensive information related to entry and exit, the center handled a total of 10,812 inquiries as of the 12th of this month.
The second place went to the 'Top Efficiency Home Appliance Rebate Project,' which offers a 10% rebate on purchases of top-efficiency home appliances to improve consumer sentiment weakened by the spread of COVID-19. The third place was awarded to a case that actively responded to the suspension of overseas testing and certification agencies in over 20 countries in Asia and Latin America due to COVID-19, thereby resolving difficulties faced by export companies.
Outstanding public officials selected will receive preferential treatment in personnel matters such as an S grade in performance evaluation, reward leave, and monetary awards. Some will also be recommended for active administration merit awards and commendations from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.
