[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) proudly announced on the 17th that it had won the Grand Prize in the Basic Local Government category on YouTube at the "6th SNS Awards of the Year."
The Korea Social Content Promotion Association, which hosted the event with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT and others, selected the winners by combining quantitative evaluations of utilization indices for each SNS channel and expert reviews, an authoritative award that Yeosu City proudly highlighted.
However, a Yeosu City official who actually received the award only knew it as "an organization that evaluates how much the city or public institutions use SNS annually and holds an awards ceremony," and said, "We just submitted an application and received the results," showing that they did not know the organization well.
While only knowing that it was supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and others, the official was unable to clearly explain the organization but still boasted about receiving an "authoritative award," which appeared somewhat amusing.
