Jeonju City and National Credit Union Federation Support Hanji Paper for Palace Window Repairs
Multilateral Agreement Ceremony for Cultural Heritage Protection on the Morning of the 17th
On the morning of the 17th, the Cultural Heritage Administration, Jeonju City, and the National Credit Union Federation held a multilateral agreement ceremony at Heungbokjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace to support traditional Jeonju hanji palace window paper and ensure the safety of intangible cultural heritage activities. The main contents include support for traditional Jeonju hanji for palace window restoration, installation of unmanned body temperature measurement devices at over 50 intangible cultural heritage training centers nationwide, and provision of approximately 50,000 hanji masks to intangible cultural heritage holders and assistant instructors. The production of traditional hanji window paper and hanji masks, as well as the installation of unmanned body temperature measurement devices, are sponsored by the National Credit Union Federation, while Jeonju City provides mulberry trees, the raw material for hanji, free of charge. The Jeonju Hanji Cooperative participates in hanji production.
