Mandatory Mask Wearing... Yangcheon-gu Strengthens Bus Disinfection Management and Supports Disinfection Supplies
Education on Quarantine Management Compliance and Emergency Mask Support and Placement Recommendations for 8 Bus Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Kim Soo-young) is strengthening quarantine measures to ensure the safety of residents using buses in the area, following the enforcement of the administrative order mandating mask-wearing starting at midnight on November 13, which includes on-site inspections for passengers not wearing masks on buses.
On the 16th at 2 p.m., the district held a "Meeting to Strengthen Bus Quarantine Management in Accordance with the Mask-Wearing Mandate" with eight city and village bus companies, delivering response guidelines for COVID-19 prevention and spread control, and also provided health masks for emergency use inside the vehicles.
In particular, the district explained that passengers wearing unauthorized masks such as mesh-type or valve-type masks, or those not wearing masks properly (e.g., wearing them only on the chin or mouth), may be subject to on-site inspections and fines, urging transportation workers to strictly comply with quarantine guidelines.
Additionally, to provide masks to bus passengers who are unavoidably unable to wear one, the district recommended stocking emergency health masks inside the vehicles and supplied 800 health masks to each of the eight city and village bus companies.
The district expects this to minimize conflicts with bus users and contribute to the safe operation of vehicles.
