The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency evaluates experience training centers operated by private companies with the aim of promoting safety and health education through hands-on experience and practice. Lotte Hi-Mart met all three evaluation criteria: facilities, personnel, and equipment.
In July last year, Lotte Hi-Mart established the 'Virtual Reality (VR) Safety Experience Training Center' at the Jungbu Logistics Center in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. This training center, covering an area of 392㎡ (119 pyeong), provides education to CS Masters, who are professionally responsible for delivery and installation at Lotte Hi-Mart, to ensure safe product delivery and installation. To date, over 1,000 employees have used the training center to participate in theoretical education and VR experiential learning. Lotte Hi-Mart actively supports employees who wish to receive training and also offers tour opportunities to various partner companies.

The ‘VR Safety Experience Training Center’ program is structured around five types of hazardous situations that may be encountered during various logistics tasks. In theoretical and general safety education, trainees learn about the risks of not wearing safety equipment, fire and electric shock experiences, and how to use an emergency escape device. The VR experience training center is equipped not only with virtual reality goggles for watching videos on warehouse safety, delivery safety, and installation safety but also with a 4D electric chair, controllers, joysticks, and steering wheels. Trainees are virtually exposed to high-risk situations such as forklift operation, working at heights, and road driving, enabling them to understand the reasons for wearing safety equipment, the importance of adhering to safety rules, and how to prevent accidents.
