Since June, SH Corporation has been promoting the "One Company One Village Housing Environment Improvement Project" worth approximately 45 million KRW over six months. The One Company One Village sisterhood project is a social contribution activity by SH Corporation that began in 2005 to revitalize exchanges between rural and urban areas. The corporation has conducted volunteer work twice a year in spring and autumn to help with necessary tasks in rural areas, but this year, as part of COVID-19 prevention and discovering social contribution activities utilizing the corporation’s expertise, it newly promoted the housing environment improvement project.
In this regard, SH Corporation signed a business agreement with Habitat for Humanity Korea in May and selected three vulnerable households through an on-site inspection in June to carry out housing environment improvement construction. The scope of work included painting, electrical work, window replacement, and roof leak repairs to help the beneficiaries spend the cold winter warmly and comfortably.
SH Corporation employees directly made DIY (Do It Yourself) furniture to be used by the beneficiary households and packed 100-mask kits to deliver to 83 households in the One Company One Village sister village. The volunteer activities by employees were originally scheduled to take place at the housing environment improvement project households in Jecheon, but considering the difficulty of face-to-face volunteer work due to COVID-19, they were conducted at SH Corporation headquarters while complying with quarantine rules.
