LG Household & Health Care Included in Dow Jones Sustainability Index for 3 Consecutive Years

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] LG Household & Health Care (CEO Cha Seok-yong) has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability 'World Index' for three consecutive years in the prestigious 2020 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) evaluation.
LG Household & Health Care is the first and only company in the domestic cosmetics industry to be included in the DJSI World Index for three consecutive years, gaining global recognition for its achievements in sustainable management.
Since its first evaluation in 1999, DJSI has marked its 22nd year this year and is recognized worldwide for its credibility in sustainability evaluation and investment.
DJSI is a sustainability evaluation and investment index that comprehensively considers not only economic performance but also environmental, social, and governance aspects, and is used as a benchmark for comparing corporate sustainability levels and responsible investment standards.
The evaluation criteria include corporate △governance △ethical management △risk management △climate change △human capital development △social contribution, and this year, items such as personal information protection, product lifecycle assessment, and packaging material recycling were revised.
DJSI consists of the ‘DJSI World Index’ targeting the top 2,500 global companies by market capitalization, the ‘DJSI Asia-Pacific Index’ evaluating the top 600 companies in the Asia-Oceania region, and the ‘DJSI Korea Index’ evaluating the top 200 domestic companies.
This year, 323 companies, accounting for 12.7% of 2,540 global companies, were included in the DJSI World Index, with 17 domestic companies included. In the DJSI Asia-Pacific Index, 156 companies, or 25.5% of 611 companies, were included, with 29 domestic companies included. In the DJSI Korea Index, 42 domestic companies, or 21.5% of 205 companies, were included.
LG Household & Health Care has been included in the DJSI World grade for three consecutive years, the Asia-Pacific grade for 11 consecutive years, and the Korea grade for 8 consecutive years.
