[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Ha Hyun-hoe, Vice Chairman of LG Uplus, urged the company's employees to create a fandom that is passionate about LG Uplus.
According to LG Uplus on the 15th, Vice Chairman Ha emphasized at the Q4 executive workshop held on the morning of the 13th, "We need to get closer to our customers. Let's focus all our capabilities on securing loyal customers."
Vice Chairman Ha said, "In 2020, despite various difficulties, we focused on creating a structure that can sustain steady growth while leading changes and innovations in the telecommunications market. Thanks to the organization coming together to overcome challenges, our performance improved." He encouraged the achievement of the number one position in net mobile subscriber growth market share and the fact that this year's cumulative sales and operating profit recorded the highest growth rate among telecom companies.
He emphasized, "Companies like Amazon and Netflix grew even more during the COVID-19 pandemic environment based on the power of fandom," and added, "Toy company Lego succeeded by implementing a 'fan base' expansion strategy that focuses marketing and sales on loyal customers." He also warned, "We must solidly prepare for the future during difficult times," and cautioned, "The existing approach cannot excite customers."
As ways to secure fandom through customer satisfaction, he pointed out ▲providing customized services through customer segmentation ▲resolving customer pain points ▲customer-centric utilization of big data.
Vice Chairman Ha particularly stressed that big data, a core element of digital transformation, should be used not for fragmented sales growth but to systematically provide customers with the information and benefits they need. Regarding next year's management plans, he said, "We must anticipate changes in the post-COVID era and new trends ahead of time and proactively create business models," and urged, "In 2021, from the perspective of customer satisfaction, let's build a more solid business structure through innovation in distribution channels, data-driven working methods, and customer experience innovation."

The workshop was attended by 15 key executives including Vice Chairman Ha and was broadcast live online to about 150 executives and managers company-wide through the internal education platform.
