According to ABC News on the 14th (local time), two sources said that after the Trump campaign suffered defeats in ongoing contest lawsuits in several states the previous day, President Trump assigned Giuliani to lead the lawsuits.
In this regard, ABC News reported that Giuliani's spokesperson confirmed that Giuliani's role for the president has been expanded.
The New York Times (NYT), citing a source familiar with the matter, also reported that after President Trump lost a lawsuit related to vote counting in Maricopa County, Arizona, he turned his attention to Giuliani.
Close aides to the president explained to the NYT that Giuliani has raised expectations about Trump's contest lawsuits, and while many say victory is unlikely, Giuliani insists it is possible.
Two law firms, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur and Snell & Wilmer, which had been handling Trump's contest lawsuits, have announced their withdrawal from the cases, signaling a red light for the president's legal efforts.
Additionally, CNN reported that on the previous day alone, nine lawsuits filed by the Trump campaign were dismissed or had their claims rejected by the courts.
According to CNN, the Trump campaign lost six lawsuits filed in Montgomery County and Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, regarding the disposal of nearly 9,000 absentee ballots, and withdrew a lawsuit in Arizona demanding a manual review of all ballots.
