[Photo] Oh Seung-rok, Nowon District Mayor, Attends '2020 Nowon Social Economy Festival'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 14th at 10 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the '2020 Nowon Social Economy Festival' held at Deungnamu Cultural Park (Junggye 2 and 3-dong).
This event, jointly hosted by Nowon District and the Nowon Social Economy Solidarity Social Cooperative, was organized to raise awareness of the social economy among local residents and support the expansion of market channels for enterprises to revitalize the local economy.
More than 40 companies participated, operating about 60 booths including social enterprise promotion, product exhibitions and sales, and ethical consumption experiences.
The event was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, National Assembly members Woo Won-shik and Kim Sung-hwan, and Choi Yoon-nam, Chairperson of Nowon District Council. The program included a congratulatory performance by 'The Band,' a professional ensemble of visually impaired musicians from the Hanbit Foundation social enterprise, awards for outstanding social economy organizations, congratulatory speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, commemorative photos, and a tour of the exhibition hall.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “We must empower social economy enterprises to grow,” adding, “Through this festival, I hope social economy enterprises will be widely promoted and public procurement of excellent company products will be activated.”
