Jeongeup-si Conducts Proactive Comprehensive Testing at COVID-19 Vulnerable Facilities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province announced on the 13th that it will conduct comprehensive testing of high-risk group facilities such as nursing hospitals until the 20th to prevent COVID-19 cluster outbreaks in advance.
This test is being conducted entirely with national funds to block "silent transmission" amid sporadic COVID-19 cluster outbreaks and to prevent group infections in high-risk facilities.
The testing targets all workers and users at a total of 44 facilities in the region, including 5 nursing hospitals, 1 psychiatric hospital, 19 nursing homes (residential), and 19 nursing homes (daycare).
The city has conducted COVID-19 diagnostic tests on workers and users at 4 nursing hospitals and 6 nursing homes (residential) so far among these facilities.
As of this day, 503 people have completed testing, and no confirmed cases have been found.
The city is making every effort to manage high-risk facilities such as nursing hospitals in the region.
Additionally, through organic cooperation between medical institutions and public health centers, a COVID-19 response system is being established, and rapid and accurate diagnostic testing will be promoted for nursing homes subject to comprehensive testing.
A city official said, "Recently, sporadic confirmed cases have occurred in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Jeonnam areas, and cases of asymptomatic infection or infections with unclear transmission routes are on the rise," and urged, "Please remain vigilant and strictly follow quarantine rules such as wearing masks."
