Changwon National University Wins Excellent Poster Presentation Award at the Korean Society of Food and Nutrition Science International Conference
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Changwon National University announced on the 13th that Lee Chang-heon and Kim Bo-ram, students of the Senior Human Ecology Cooperative Program under the 4th phase BK21 New Senior Smart Life Innovation Talent Training Education and Research Group, each received the Excellent Poster Presentation Award at the 2020 Korean Society of Food and Nutrition International Conference.
The Korean Society of Food and Nutrition International Conference, held under the theme "Healthy Aging and Sustainable Life," was a platform where researchers from industry, academia, research institutes, and government related to food and nutrition from around the world shared recent academic research results on elderly-friendly foods and aging, and discussed new values. The conference was conducted both online and offline.
Professor Yoo Dae-woong, the supervising professor, stated, "The research results of the presentation by student Lee Chang-heon, titled ‘Comparison of moisture sorption characteristic of Lactobacillus brevis fermented sea tangle, mekabu fucoidan, and these mixture powders,’ will contribute to the development of materials and industrialization in the elderly-friendly food industry."

Professor Kim Mi-jung, the supervising professor, explained, "The research results of the presentation by student Kim Bo-ram, titled ‘Optimum Formulation and Its Properties of Sunsik, Cereal Based Ready-to-Drink Korean Beverage, added with Germinated Wheat and Herbal Plant Extract,’ not only won the Excellent Poster Award but were also finally approved for publication as the first author in the SCIE journal ‘Foods (IF=4.092),’ providing an opportunity to demonstrate the research capabilities of graduate students in the Senior Human Ecology Cooperative Program."
